            <description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;a href=&quot;http://s549.photobucket.com/albums/ii390/stuartguthrie/?action=view&amp;current=0001.jpg&quot; title=&quot;0001.jpg&quot;&gt;&lt;img src=&quot;http://th549.photobucket.com/albums/ii390/stuartguthrie/th_0001.jpg&quot; alt=&quot;0001.jpg&quot; /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br&gt;0001.jpg&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Hi allI am interested in some opinions of those who have a technical knowledge of Apple products or electronics in general Any help would be greatly appreciatedThe computer in these photos a 17 MacBook Pro costing over 4000 was purchased from NextByte an Australia authorized Apple reseller in 2006 The computer worked fine for about a year and a half but towards midlast year it started demonstrating what would appear to be faults including Intermittent shutdowns  The computer refusing to resume from sleep Periods where the computer would refuse to turn on Keys on the computer refusing to register when pressed Limited battery charge Peeling of paint from outside casingUnfortunately NextByte have refused to repair or replace the computer even though it is still well within its 3 year warranty period It turns out that supposedly bodily sweat has caused some minor corrosion which automatically voids Apple&apos;s warranty Apple confirm this statement by stating that sweat is not covered under warranty even though they agree that it is normal to sweat when using the computer Strangely enough this was not noticed until I asked that the mainboard be replaced to ensure that none of the above problems ever occur again Indeed until I had requested this NextByte had ordered in two replacement parts that they had installed into the machine a new keyboard and a DC power converter Now NextByte refuse to give me the machine back with the new partsAs you may notice it would appear as though the computer has also been damaged by NextByte upon being opened notice the scratch marks around the screws in some of the photos however they refuse to confirm or deny this Even stranger NextByte refuse to tell me if there are any other possible ways that this could have occured or if the machine was quality checked before it was sold to me My question is could there be any other scientific way that the corrosion could have been caused NextByte have confirmed that they were unable to find any liquid in the machine grooves tubing or between chips which would rule out any other liquid being spilt on the machine I am also assured that if liquid had been spilt into it that the case that the machine would have shortcircuted Strangely enough other Mac users have complained about the same thing when doing a web search which would make me wonder if this could somehow be a manufacturing fault with faulty metal usedAnyway as I&apos;m in the midst of seeking legal assistance I would appreciate it if anyone who knows of any other scenarios that could explain the corrosion could let me know I have disabled comment posting as only Flickr mail alerts me of new messages I would also greatly appreciate it I could be told as to what the extent of the corrosion isThanks in advanceStu PS If you are interested please let me know and I will happily email you the NextByte service report and the email messages for your perusal I also have recorded phone conversations with Apple staff but for the sake of privacy have had to block out names  you are more than welcome to those too&lt;/p&gt;</description>
