Two companion sculptures designed to flank an entrance a pathway or a garden ldquoFoxgloves Fistsrdquo and ldquoFistacuffsrdquo both 2009 are 7rsquo x 3rsquo x 3rsquo Mosaic enamel paint on fiberglass These sculptures are a strong and vibrant depiction of man's continuing fight with nature Fists explode from these beautiful and brightly colored mosaic columns The mosaic imagery of the foxgloves plant represents a very beautiful plant that is also very deadly (digitalis) a symbol for the dichotomy found in Manrsquos destructive nature Balance is the key making their symmetrical book-end siting all the more poignant These sculptures have been shown in very high-traffic locations including Grand Rapidsrsquo Artprize and at the Merchandise Mart during Art Chicago I am an experienced outdoor sculptor from Chicago and all of my sculptures are fabricated for extreme weather conditions and for high-levels of audience interaction These pieces are fabricated with One-shot enamel paint on epoxied fiberglass and mosaiced with thinset mortar and epoxy grout The columns have their own steel bases or they can be bolted directly into concrete They can be transported with extra manpower without the steel plate base With the steel plate base I will need a boom truck or forklift The pair of sculptures are valued at 30000 They may be sited individually or by the pair (which I prefer)
