We reached into our Magic Bag and pulled out this great animation cel of the worlds first and most beloved cat in the animation worldthat wonderful wonderful catFelix the Cat Felix was technically the world's first television star to have his image broadcast over television airwaves when in 1928 a toy statue of the cat was chosen as the image to test RCA's experimental 60line television transmitter He also had the honor to be chosen by Charles Lindburgh As his lucky mascot on his famous transatlantic flight as well as being the very first cartoon character to be featured in Macys Thanksgiving Day parade In the cartoons Felix had a magical bag of tricks that could give even Mary Poppins' carpet bag a run for its money Because the bag seemed to hold the perfect item for every occasion it was greedily coveted by the Professor Felix's cunning yet usually unsuccessful rival Even with the help of his sidekick the bulldog Rock Bottom the Professor would inevitably fail in his attempts to steal the precious bag Felix also faced a formidable but equally ineffectual enemy in the form of the sinister Master Cylinder The coveted cat did have friends too including a bizarre little eskimo named Vavoom who could start an avalanche simply by shouting his name The Professor's brainy nephew Poindexter was also more of a friend than foe for Felix and his name left a legacy as the nickname of particularly bright children for decades A great hand painted reproduction done as a tribute of the most beloved animated cartoon series that we rushed home to watch every day during our youth

Twilightsky is a tortoiseshell shecat with white on her chest a little on her face and two white front paws She has a smokey pink nose and misty green eyes but when angry they can change to venomous pits of hate She is smaller than most cats but don't let her beautiful small apperence fool you for she is most definetly not the nicest cat you will meet She is very strong mentally and physically and underneath her smooth shiny tortoiseshell fur are slender built muscles and she uses them to improve her already good running swimming hunting and climbing skills She has a fierce attitude and craves the feel and thrill of a battle She has suffered a lot in her life and as a result she sometimes wonders what there is to live for in this world But Twilightsky is surrounded by faith and believes she will find a reason She works hard to become a great warrior one day and she is ready Though she is fierce quiet and may seem just plain evil at some points if you are her friend you will see a whole new side of her and can always count on her She has a history much too painful for most cats to hear and has shared her burdens with no one

Homotherium is a genus of machairodontine sabertoothed cats often termed 'scimitar cats' that lived approximately 5 million to 10000 years ago in North America South America Eurasia and Africa It first became extinct in Africa some 15 million years ago In Eurasia it survived until about 30000 years ago The last scimitar cat survived in North America until 10000 years agoHomotherium reached 11 m at the shoulder and was therefore about the size of a lion Compared to some other machairodonts like Smilodon or Megantereon Homotherium had relatively shorter upper canines but they were flat serrated and longer than those of any living cat Incisors and lower canines formed a powerful puncturing and gripping device Among living cats only the tiger Panthera tigris has such large incisors which aid in lifting and carrying prey The molars of Homotherium were rather weak and not adapted for bone crushing The skull was longer than in Smilodon and had a welldeveloped crest where muscles were attached to power the lower jaw This jaw had downturned forward flanges to protect the scimitars Its large canine teeth were crenulated and designed for slashing rather than purely stabbingIt had the general appearance of a cat but some of its physical characteristics are rather unusual for a large cat The limb proportions of Homotherium gave it a hyenalike appearance The forelegs were elongated while the hind quarters were rather squat with feet perhaps partially plantigrade causing the back to slope towards the short tail Features of the hindlimbs indicate that this cat was moderately capable of leaping The pelvic region including the sacral vertebrae were bearlike as was the short tail composed of 13 vertebrae about half the number in longtailed catsThe unusually large square nasal opening like that of the cheetah Acinonyx jubatus presumably allowed quicker oxygen intake which aided in rapid running and in cooling the brain As in the cheetah too the brain's visual cortex was large and complex emphasizing the scimitar cat's ability to see well and function in the day rather than the night as in most catsHomotherium probably derived from Machairodus and appeared for the first time at the MiocenePliocene border about 5 million years ago2 During the Pleistocene it occurred in vast parts of Eurasia North America and until the middle Pleistocene about 15 million years ago even in Africa There has also been a discovery of 18 millionyearold fossils in Venezuela34 indicating that scimitar cats were able to invade South America along with Smilodon during the Great American Interchange How long they lasted in South America is not yet evident Homotherium survived in Eurasia and North America until about 300001 and 10000 years ago respectivelySeveral species nestianus sainzelli creantidens nihowanensis ultimum are recognized from Eurasia which differ mainly in the shape of the canines and in body size But given the fluctuation range of the size of modern large cats it is highly probable that all belong to just one species Homotherium latidensTwo species described form the early Pleistocene of Africa are Homotherium ethiopicum and Homotherium hadarensis But they also hardly differ from the Eurasian forms2 On the African continent the genus disappeared about 15 million years ago In North America a very similar species Homotherium serum occurred from the latest Pliocene until the latest Pleistocene Remains have been found at various sites between Alaska and Texas In the southern parts of its range the American Homotherium coexisted with Smilodon in the northern parts it was the only species of sabertoothed cat The American Homotherium was originally described by the name DinobastisDespite Homotherium's vast range and the large amount of fossil remains from Eurasia Africa and North America complete skeletons of this cat are relatively rare One of the most famous sites of Homotherium remains is Friesenhahn cave in Texas where 30 Homotherium skeletons were found along with hundreds of juvenile mammoths and several dire wolvesFriesenhahn cave in Texas contained the remains of over 30 H serum individuals which were discovered along with the remains of between 300 and 400 juvenile Columbian Mammoths Mammuthus columbii5 Besides mammoth very few other potential prey species were found in the cave it is therefore unlikely that Homotherium carried scavenged carcasses of already dead animals to the cave Such specialization on prey of a particular species and age structure is not covenant with a scavenging lifestyle For the same reason it is also unlikely that the dire wolves carried the mammoths into the caveThe worldwide association of Homotherium species with proboscidean elephant and mastodon and rhino remains mainly those of juveniles suggests that Homotherium preyed selectively on these toughskinned animals and probably hunted in packs carrying away the large animals it brought down The decline of Homotherium could be due to the disappearance of large herbivorous mammals like mammoths in America at the end of the Pleistocene In North America fossil remains of Homotherium are less abundant than those of its contemporary Smilodon For the most part it probably inhabited higher latitudes and altitudes and therefore was likely to be well adapted to the colder conditions of the mammoth steppe environmentThe suggested large prey species make it probable that Homotherium hunted in packs Reduced claws relatively slender limbs and the sloping back indicate adaptations for endurance running in open This is the dress that Sarah got to wear to Paul's house this past Christmas 2008 but she fell asleep on the floor before we got to eat and even before we got to get any pictures of her We really didn't have any presents and no one else had a tree so it wasn't that festive for a kid's world so I just didn't get a chance to take any pictures then Even though we had school picture day I wanted to get some pictures of Sarah in her cute dresses being that we never go anywhere that we can wear them and she's outgrown her shoes that go with them and for some reason her stockings that went with them and fit have all just disappeared I have been taking what I can and will have to do some photoediting of the originals and use a superimposed background being that I don't have a nice background and you see the condition of our walls with the old flat paint that the apartment was originally painted with when we got here Next time I hope they use semigloss due to the resiliency and hopefully it won't get so dirty and hard to clean I tried to get a few pictures over the weekend as I could when Sarah would either pose or stay still I had a ton of things to do and as I got them done things stacked up in other areas but I managed to get some pictures to work with and will hopefully get more later People often look at what we have and think that we have more than they do and that's not the case Sarah was ordered by a medical doctor for OT and PT due to a brain injury and this has been the case since 2003 I've been doing the best that I can to take care of her and give her what she needs since that time at the cost of a great deal of my life but she's my child and is worth it even through times that I would have never imagined seeing myself living through with her just praying that things got better but waiting and waiting and waiting Anyway Saturday evening I made pancakes sausage and scrambled eggs for everyone The meal came out nice I had a huge plate of left overs which I made LLO'C

Muttage14 She's about 8 months younger then Kisame age15 and Is Kakuzu's little sister She doesn't have the keikai genkai yet Kakuzu's 33 Kakuzu and Mutt are related because of their mom Their mom was 16 when she had kakuzu and in her 30s when she had Mutt and Keen Keen is Their other brother Keen is older then Mutt but younger then Kakuzu Neither Mutt nor Kakuzu like Keen Mutt has the four tailed white wolf demon named Bijuu sealed inside her witch gives her teh black ears and white tails she should have blue eyes with black whites by the time she's 16 she's realy shy Hidan is her exboyfriend by forceHe forced her to go out with him and then dumped him for Kisame Kakuzu and Kisame are her closet friends other then Sir leaderPein and Konan She's paired with Her brother and Hidan She absolutly hates Hidan along with Kakuzu She's friends with Sun Cat Karin Kanomai John and Zen who are also demon children and one of Orochimaru's daughters Mailo Kaya doesn't entirly like her though Mutt learns fast so she found out how to make human pupets in one day She is much like Kakuzu in attack style and is hard to beat in the face of battle because of this Mutt also knows ways to make easy money and likes to save it Mutt and Kakuzu also get ticked off VERY easy and work well together in battle and at anything else Mutt can normaly be seen in the Fearsom foursom of her Kakuzu Kisame and Hidan sometimes her pets come with her Leader doesn't like the animals though Mutt on the other hand LOVES her animals She's had her dogsally scence she was 8 years old and got Aserak about a month ago but she still loves him Mutt can be very antisocial and shy exept when she's with Kisame and Kakuzu She's a great artist as well this is another reason why she is very consealed She loves to type love storys on her computer and make sprite movies Mutt's one of the quiter Akatsuki memberes and doesn't talk unless talked to then you would have a hard time getting her to respond but if you play your cards right and not make fun of her she might just help you in the end

body of a lion with the head of a king or god the sphinx has come to symbolize strength and wisdom From the north side the profile of the Sphinx reveals the proportion of the body to the head It would appear as though the head is small in proportion to the body Because of the changing desert terrain the body of the Sphinx has been buried several times over the past several thousand years Most recently in 1905 the sand has been cleared away to expose the magnitude and beauty of the entirety of the Sphinx The paws themselves are 50 feet long 15m while the entire length is 150 feet 45m The head is 30 10m feet long and 14 feet 4m wide Because certain layers of the stone are softer than others there is a high degree of erosion that has claimed the original detail of the carved figure Formation which dips slightly southeast comprising limestone and dolomites To the south the Mokattam and dolomitic limestones are overlain by the marly limestone and sandy marls of the Upper Eocene Maadi Formation To the north and east the Mokattam Formation is characterized by two steep escarpments about 30 meters 92 feet high It continues to the Great Sphinx ditch which must at one time have layers of marl and slate These marl layers were easier to dig than limestone so excavation of the large shafts that extended as much as 30 meters beneath the step pyramids was accomplished in a reasonable time However there was also a serious disadvantage because the marl layers could not support their weight The underlayer gave way and the construction became unstable This in fact happened with the South Pyramid at Dahshur where cracks and serious damage appeared in the corridor system and in the chambers so that the pyramid had to be abandoned Another view of GizaAnother view of GizaHence when Khufu planned his own ambitious pyramid he was looking for a solid rock base nearby quarries and a dominating position overlooking the Nile Valley which he of course found at Giza Giza can be subdivided into two groupings of monuments clearly defined and separated by a wadi The larger grouping consists of the three Great pyramids of Khufu Khephren Khafre and Menkaure the Sphinx attendant temples and outbuildings and the private mastabas of the nobility The second grouping located on the ridge to the southeast contains a number of private tombs of citizens of various classes While the majority of the monuments of the larger grouping are made from limestone that was quarried and transported to the site the tombs of the smaller grouping are simply carved out of the native living rockThough the three Great Pyramids are the most famous and prominent monuments at Giza the site has actually been a Necropolis almost since the beginning of Pharaonic Egypt A tomb just on the outskirts of the Giza site dates from the reign of the First Dynasty Pharaoh Wadj Djet and jar sealings discovered in a tomb in the southern part of Giza mention the Second Dynasty Pharaoh Ninetjer But it was the Fourth Dynasty Pharaoh Khufu Cheops who placed Giza forever at the heart of funerary devotion a city of the dead that dwarfed the cities of the living nearby In order to build his complex he had to clear away many of the old tombs filling in their shafts or even totally destroying them His pyramid the largest of all the pyramids in Egypt though it should be noted that it surpasses the Red Pyramid at Dahshur built by his father Snefru by only ten meters dominates the sandy plainOn its southwest diagonal is the pyramid of his son Khephren Chephren Khafre Although it is smaller a steeper angle results in the illusion that they are the same size In fact Kephren's pyramid appears taller since it is on higher ground The notion that this was done on purpose to outdo his father is without question As it occupies the central point has the illusion of greater size and still has some of its casing stones intact it is frequently mistaken to as the Great Pyramid something that would no doubt please Khephren were he alive today Further along the southwest diagonal is the smallest of the three great pyramids that of Khephren's son Menkaure It is also the most unusual First of all it is not entirely limestone The uppermost portions are brick much like the several Pyramids at Dahshur though separated from them by several centuries One theory is that Menkaure died before his pyramid could be completed and the remaining construction was hastily done to finish it in time for the burial It is also not along the diagonal line that runs through the Great Pyramid and the Second Pyramid but instead is nearly a hundred meters to the southeast This error if error it is is of a magnitude not in keeping with the mathematical skill known to have been possessed by the ancient Egyptians However an idea has emerged in the last few years that the three large pyramids of Giza are actually meant to be in an alignment resembling that of the three belt stars in the constellation Orion Alnitak Alnilam and Mintaka This theory is largely discounted by the majority of Egyptologists but some do believe it is a point to ponder Actually it should also be noted that while the center of the pyramid does not line up with its larger counterparts the southeast sides of all three pyramids are in alignment All three pyramids stand empty probably plundered during the political unrest that ended the Old Kingdom when the monarchy collapsed Yet there are the occasional surprises Airtight pits along the southern and eastern walls of Khufu's pyramid contain boats not small ritual boats but fullyfunctional funerary barges with 40ton displacements One was excavated in 1954Exactly how big Giza is may never be known Excavations have continued to find new tombs and artifacts since Bezoni Caviglia Perring and Vyse began the first systematic study of Giza in the early 1800s It has been explored and excavated more thoroughly than any other site in Egypt possibly more than any other site in the world yet no one believes the research is anywhere near complete today Throughout the Old Kingdom the cemetery of Giza remained the most prominent even when the kings moved again to Southern Saqqara For example important officials such as the architects of the 'inti family who constructed the pyramids of the 5th and 6th Dynasties continued to live in the pyramid town of Khufu and had their family tombs at Giza During the First Intermediate Period the pyramid town of Khufu and the cemetery of Giza were both abandoned and they remained so during the Middle Kingdom In fact the pyramids were The Great Sphinx at Gizaforcefully opened and plundered and the private tombs were not ignored by thieves either The causeways and temples were in fact even used as quarries by the architects of the kings of the 12th DynastyThis all changed completely during the New Kingdom The kings of the 18th Dynasty showed deep respect for the pyramids as monuments of their ancestors at Giza and the area gained considerable religious significance as the center of royal worship to the Great Sphinx Lord of Setpet the Chosen Place Princes and kings of the 18th and 19th Dynasties erected stelae between the paws of the Sphinx which was no longer seen as a royal statue but rather as an image of the sun god Harmachis Horus in his Western Horizon which was actually a reference to the Horizon of Khufu Amenhotep II dedicated a small temple to Harcachis to the northeast of the Sphinx On foundation tables of that temple the Sphinx is also named HarmachisHauron Hauron was the name of a SyrianPalestinian god of the netherworld that a community of SyrianPalestinians living near the Great Sphinx identified with his image Ramesses II installed a sanctuary within the forepaws of the SphinxIn the Late period Osiris became the dominant god of the area taking over the cult locations of Rostau from Sokar and installing his cult in the Sphinx High massive pedestals were actually added to the body of the Sphinx on which chapels of Osiris and probably Isis stood Isis Another View of the Great Sphinx at Gizabecame known as the Lady of the PyramidsDuring the Sixth Century BC onward Greek travelers admired the pyramids at Giza and it was they who eventually placed the monuments in the list of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World After the Pharonic Period and up until recently stone from the monuments were taken and used to build buildings in nearby Cairo First the polished white limestone casing was taken then the softer core stones Many of Cairo's oldest buildings are built partly from stones from the pyramids This destruction continued well into the Nineteenth Century until preservation efforts and a resurgence of national pride put a stop to it It is believed that had the pyramids not been vandalized they would still remain to this day much as they were when they were built As the saying goes Man fears Time but Time fears the Pyramids
