1 cap and elbow The cap is for the part of the hook that is hung over the inside of the gunnel The 1 piece of tube between the elbow and cap is cut just long enough (2 I think) to slide into the cap and elbow giving them a seamless appearance This is plenty long enough to provide a good gunnel hook

The cover is held on by custom shaped pieces of UHMW polyethylene plastic which hook on to a continuous nylon rope that is attached under the gunnel rail
