85 USD or Offer Wonderful one of a kind piece of history quite lovely for Irish St Patrick's Day shamrock with rainbow splash of green in center four leaf clover charms Vintage Georgivs V Shilling and Pence Exotic Figural Bracelet Largest center shilling coin stamped 1943 from Melbourne Australia 1580000 were minted Natural stone is Australian Dream Time Marble in yellow green and yellowish orange Other smaller pence coins dating approximately 1910 covering the Edwardian to Art Nouveau Era difficult with the cutout leaving guess work on each coin but appears to be the King Edward VII on one side and shield with Kangaroo and an emu two indigenous animals of the Australian continent on the other side Animals had previously been used on Australias token coinage since the mid-nineteenth centuryThrough the cutouts I was able to put bits and pieces of words together D: G: OMN: Rex: IMP: Geo Givsvl: Silver Pence Advance Australin Shilling Partial motifs of a star Kangaroo Emu Ribbon and a shield on various coins From this was able to date the coins from pictures I found Most likely coins were gathered together actually creating the bracelet in the Art Deco Era a lonely GI away from home giving good luck charms of love for his sweetheart that is waiting Makes you wonder who she might have been and the love story behind the bracelet Much more how and why an heirloom like this would have been sold Oh the charisma of it all Nicely done hand made clover cutouts crudely soldered to three chains hook closure Coins were made of 925 sterling silver in this time period Chains and closure hook tested 925 Measuring end to end 7 78 at widest point 252 grams Purchased New Castle Pennsylvania85 or Offer PayPal Money Order Personal Check

The Tale of the Lucky cat is a wonderful story n nAn old Japanese tradition the Maneki Neko has become a popular collector's item all over the globe nNot only is the Maneki Neko a loveable figurine for collection its story is fascinating There are many legends of its origin and superstitions abound about the Beckoning Cat n nOne of the more popular legends centers around the Edo period (17th century) when a priest of a temple in the western part of Tokyo chided his pet cat for not contributing to the temple which was quite dilapidated n nOne day soon after Naotaka Ii who was the lord of Hikone district (western part of Japan near Kyoto) was standing under a tree in front of the temple seeking protection from rain when he noticed that a cat was inviting him into the temple As soon as he left the shelter of the tree to enter the temple the tree was struck by lightening Naotaka of course grateful to the cat (Tama) adopted the temple for his family and bestowed his gratitude to the priest by helping the temple prosper After his death Tama was buried at Goutokuji's cat cemetery with much respect and honor and the Maneki Neko tradition began n nAnother legend tells of a famous Geisha of the Edo period named Usugumo who loved cats and kept her own at her side constantly It seems one evening her cat insistently pulled at the hem of her robe and after some period of frustration she called for help An admirer rushed to her side and cut off the head of the cat thinking it to be a goblin cat The cat's head flew to the ceiling and bit the huge snake that was hovering over Usugumo Usugumo mourned deeply the cat who had sacrificed its life for her and in consolation one of her guests presented her with an image of the hero cat made of aromatic wood That image of course was the Maneki Neko and its raised paw was trying to alert her to danger n nThere are many more legends and the most popular of the bunch are to be found at the Maneki Neko Club There are also interesting stories about the traditions of displaying the Maneki Neko According to one story the Japanese who treasure good luck charms put the Maneki Neko in the front of their store to attract customers andor good fortune Tradition says that the left paw beckoning invites customers while the right paw welcomes fortune or money Of course there's nothing wrong with hedging your bets by having one of each n nAnother interesting bit of trivia is that in Japan the Beckoning Cat shows its palm outward to simulate the way the Japanese beckon However the Dollar Cat made for export shows the back of the paw outward to represent the beckoning gesture in European countries and America Thus commerce has a way of taking care of cultural differences to please all collectors n nManeki Neko like live cats come in all variations of colors Among the most popular are the Tri-colored figures Because male calico cats are rare they are revered as lucky cats among sailors around the world and among Maneki Neko collectors Other popular colors are white representing purity black to ward off evil (read black cats witchcraft) and red pink or gold The Beckoning Cat is always adorned with a red ribbon around its neck holding a bell on the front n nYou may be interested in acquiring your own Maneki Neko after reading about them I have a reference section on the Beckoning Cat where you can find more information on the Maneki Neko including sources for these Lucky Cats n(from http:catsaboutcomcsmanekinekoamanekinekohtm)

Gwen TennysonnnGwendolyn Gwen Tennyson (voiced by Meagan Smith) is Ben's ten year-old cousin (the two share the same birthday)7 Gwen is the voice of reason that tries (usually unsuccessfully) to keep Ben from getting himself into trouble Ben tends to ignore her and thinks that she has no idea when to stop nagging him3 Gwen is always trying to plan ahead and calculate the consequences of their (mostly Ben's) actions because she is convinced that Ben never thinks before he acts8nnShe uses her laptop to research any strange people andor creatures they might come across9 Although Gwen shares a love-hate relationship with her cousin she sometimes insults Ben with dry wit and sarcasm most of the time3 she loves him as her cousin and shows him respect from time to time10nnGwen is a capable gymnast and has had some training in martial arts11 She has also shown an almost innate skill in using various complicated devices or objects such as in the hiatus episode Gwen 10 when Gwen gained the Omnitrix instead of Ben and proved to be far more adept in its use than he initially wasnnOverall her most notable skill is her innate if latent natural ability at magic Having within her what Charmcaster calls a magical aura Gwen is capable of using various magical artifacts and spells12 When using the magical luck-giving Charm of Bezel she was able to activate it instinctively whereas Hex did not13 Later on when she gets a hold of his staff she was able to make it fire an energy blast according to Hex only someone of his skill should have that ability14 Gwen has only recently started to actually tap into her magical powers to help Ben using a book of spells she took from Charmcaster in the episode A Change of Face15 In the possible future of Ben 10000 future Gwen (voiced by Tara Strong) combination of physical and magical training leads her to become both a black belt and a master magician using the recreated Charms of Bezel which makes her a hero in her own right In Ken 10 Ben's son Ken considers her as an aunt and she gives him a rock creature as a pet similar to the ones Charmcaster usesnnOn two occasions Gwen has used magical items known as the Charms of Bezel to become a superheroine by the name of Lucky Girl (bearing resemblance to the Marvel Comics character Hellcat) At first her ability drew from the luck Charm of Bezel which gave Gwen control over the laws of probability similar to the Marvel comic character Scarlet Witch While wearing the charm any action Gwen took would result in an implausible chain reaction benefiting her original intent but usually injuring Ben in the process13 She later brought back her superhero identity after obtaining the Keystone of Bezel which increased her natural abilities to superhuman levels rather than affecting her luck14 Both times Gwen was forced to retire when the Charms of Bezel were destroyed Gwen's future self apparently learns to recreate the charms somehow as they are an integral part of her costume
