Story by CARRIE STETLER Photos by SAED HINDASHnnHis little brothers had been in the basement with the dogs for about a month when Rahfeal Gordon was sent down there toonnMost of the time their dad was easier on Rahfeal because he managed to stay out of troublennBut one day when Rahfeal (pronounced RAH-fee-al) was 15 he had failed to come up with money for the electric bill His father beat him before shoving him downstairs with his three siblingsnnThe dogs in the basement weren't vicious but it was no place for anyone to live There was no heat so they used to stay warm by sleeping on the clothes dryernnIt was one of the few times during his childhood that Rahfeal and his brothers had a home Their mom long struggling with crack addiction had recently left for goodnnFor years she and her four boys drifted in and out of homeless shelters in Newark There were days she never picked them up from school and they had to sleep on park benches Rahfeal's dad once abandoned him at a crack housennHis life is filled with stories like these But few people heard them when he was growing upnnOn music and a prayer nThroughout his nightmarish childhood -- with three younger brothers to watch -- he acted like nothing was wrong He didn't let them see the small Bible he carried with him everywherennDespite hopping from school to school Gordon graduated from Arts High School in Newark finding solace in music and prayer He formed an event planning company called Infinite Productions and now he's a senior at Montclair State University with his own apartment in HillsidennPeople thought that I was raised in a healthy family People didn't think I struggled says Gordon who recently turned 25 But now I want to let people know I want to be a poster child for those who were less fortunate I made it and so can you I knew I was better than where I was atnnAs a motivational speaker his message is simplennYour location isn't your destination says GordonnnIt's the motto of his performance Hip Hop Saved My LifennOn stage at local high schools colleges like Juilliard and venues like the Hard Rock Cafe Gordon shares his story which is filled with lines from hip-hop lyricsnnOne of his favorites is Juicy by the Notorious BIGnnYou know very wellnnwho you arenndon't let 'em hold you downnnreach for the starsnnHip-hop gave him encouragement when no one else wouldnnYou don't have to live a thug life to be hip-hop he tells audiences You can be yourself help others and still be hip-hopnnLife choices nHis two youngest brothers Alfonso and Isaiah made a different choicennThey found a home on the streets dropping out of school by ninth grade Alfonso a drug dealer was murdered two years ago at 19 gunned down in Irvington Isaiah 19 was jailed on drug and weapons charges in OctobernnAnother brother Janvier followed Rahfeal's footsteps and is about to graduate from Delaware State University with a degree in accountingnnLike Rahfeal he feels a heavy sense of guilt and responsibility for his brothers' fatesnnWe had to carry them especially Rahfeal because he was the oldest says Janvier who is 23 We understood more They just felt the pain What happened to Alfonso I know it hurts Rahfeal a whole lot but he hides it sometimes because he doesn't want me to know When he thinks I'm not looking he has so much pain in his facennUntil Gordon was about 8 years old life was goodnnHis parents were together They didn't do drugs The family lived in the Prince Street projects in Newark His dad had a job as a mechanic They were doing well enough to have Friday night dinners at Pizza Hut It's one of Rahfeal favorite childhood memoriesnnThey were getting bynnThen his father became heavily addicted to crack His mother's addiction soon followed She and her sons bounced among relatives and often ended up in sheltersnnWith no one to depend on but himself Gordon was determined to show his potential to anyone who would notice For him it was a survival instinctnnI definitely felt like I had to stand out Like 'Hey I'm here I'm really doing something' I had to stand out he says When you're raised the way I was you think 'I need to make people notice me'nnHe hid the truth about his situationnnYou would never have known he had this horrible background says Tommy Jones a childhood friend from Newark who is now an accountant in Virginia I was one of the only ones that knew what was going on He just tried to blank it all out of his head and pretend that it didn't existnnWhen Gordon felt ashamed he would repeat a verse from the bible:nnThe first shall be last and the last shall be firstnnIt reminded him that in heaven things would be differentnnNo matter where he lived he tried to attend church At 13 he walked an hour every Sunday to Hopewell Baptist Church in NewarknnI had one suit and that's what I'd wear says Gordon who now belongs to Calvary Baptist Church in Garfield

these pistols among with the basically similar but smaller PPK were widely used as police and military guns in Hitlers Germany After the war production of the PP and PPK pistols was resumed in France by Manurhin under German licence Later on production was returned to the re-established Walther factory in the city of Ulm ab Donau (pre-war Walther factory was located in the city of Zella-Mehlis) and these pistols have seen widespread use by civilians and police as well as for personal defense by many non-infantry officers in several European armies Very close copies of the Walther PP were manufactured after the war by East Germany Hungary Romania Turkey and USA At the present time Walther PP PPKS and PPK pistols are manufactured in the USA by the Smith Wesson Company under licence from Walther Walther PPK pistols are essentially similar to the larger PP pistols except for the different design of the grip frame while on PP pistols the grip backstrap is integral to the frame and grip panels are two separate items (left and right) on PPK pistols grip frame has a rectangular shape of a magazine channel and the backstrap is formed by the single-piece U-shaped grip unit also usually made of plastic While most PPK pistols were made with steel frames in the post-war period Walther also produced some aluminum-framed PPKL (Lightweight) pistols Also there are Walther PPKS pistols which are a cross-breed between PP and PPK combining the PP frame with shorter PPK-style barrel and slide These pistols were designed to avoid limitations imposed by the American Firearms Owners Protection Act of 1968 This act in particular limited the minimum size of a sporting purpose pistols that are allowed to be imported in USA and use of the larger grip frame allowed importing these pistols instead of smaller PPK pistols banned from importation under this law The Walther PP is blowback-operated pistol with a fixed barrel usually of all-steel construction A few aluminum-framed PP pistols were built in Germany before the war and stainless steel versions are manufactured in the USA under Walthers licence since the mid-1980s The trigger is double-action with an exposed hammer and a frame-mounted manual safetydecocker the lockwork is somewhat complicated in a typical German manner and has many small parts and pins Sights are fixed with the rear sight blade dovetailed into the slide Magazines are single-stack the magazine release button is usually located at the left side of the frame just below the slide and in front of the grip panel However at least some PP pistols were made both before and after the war with so called European-style magazine release located at the heel of the grip Walther PP and PPK pistols are fitted with a loaded chamber indicator made in the form I've been restoring old tractors and implements for nearly 27 yrs but have I always wanted an old truck Having 4 kids I really couldn't justify the expense of a restored one and just wasn't finding what I wanted in a project I decided to build my own truck combining aspect of my favorite models into my own creation I sketched it out on a napkin one day telling my wife I would build this A skeptical look was her response The roof line is like I've seen on a Mack the C cab design from the model TT the heavy cast symetrical radiator I had seen on a Rumley The flare box was just something I liked along with the old chain supported tailgate The '51 Chevy 3600 frame was given to me by an old retired mechanic and had nothing on it except front and rear axles and a steering box The wood for the body came from my family farm and is predominantly white oak with a few pieces of ash thrown in here and there I had it sawn at a local mill by an old feller who probably saw truck of this style when they were new

Some of the inner frame The shoulder joint is actually backwards in this shot because I was fidgeting with it when I was trying to remove the arms beforehand so I could show some of the torso's inner frame as well but the way that the shoulders are designed makes removing them difficult they are locked into the torso by one of those plug in and rotate pegs No matter how much I tried I just couldn't find the gap for the peg to pass through and I eventually gave up I didn't even notice that the shoulder was backwards until after I took the pic

Well lookie here One might think that lately all I'm doing is reposting things I've already made It's still Sakura she still does the same things and I'm still using the SR Target template for non-SR cards (I really just like the templates) Anyway the differences First the flak vest Medics have worn a different color even on the battlefield for ages Even though the tan flak vest was a different color than normal I decided to go white and further reflect that first and foremost Sakura is a medic Also the next set is introducing a new (to Naruto CCG) text mechanic something akin to DBZ CCG for activated effects Ths method saves some space and is part of my current tournament round so I made this one in that format That's about it I guess Another iteration of what in my opinion might be the be all the best of all the ultimate Sakura card Seriously though I really like how this one turns out and can't think of much to improve her honestly

Larry and all nLast year in summer we run the original Carrera cooling system on my S90 engine with my 57 coupe all 4 cylinders had the sensors with the dash controlled switch nwith one to one pulley dimensions we got great temperatures around 80100 F nless than original Porsche fan shroud which is turning the fan almost two times faster nAfter these actual test drives over 65100 miles hr around 200 miles we were nvery happy but was expecting this nWe build real metal Carrera fan shrouds like factory build 50 years ago and all the other parts original remanufactured parts nFull Carrera cooling Unit cost as seen in picture close to 6900 nSo far we are booked for 6 months there are two members already installed nthe carrera cooling system on their VWT1 engines by their mechanic building bold on blocks on the case I guess you will hear from them soon nOther units we shipped were one for real Carrera GT engine rest was for 356 Pushrod engines Also we are building for Mike and Greg for their super exciting 4 cylinder911 nengines coming life soon nI hear Jake is building Carrera cooling units in his way and mentioning that it will be reasonable for VW crowd so any of you cannot afford real Carrera units they can check with Jake at air-cooled technologies nLike I mentioned before I will not be looking SC every day so If you wish more detail info or have serious Qs please call 214 460 0144 or email me at: nkuzu356aolcom this is better for me to get you answers Quick nThank you

As hard as it is to believe Machinus was not always a droid He was originally a Nautolan Jedi engineer named Cid Geero (he wasn't originally named that as an intentional Final Fantasy reference) and served in the Mandalorian Wars constructing some of the Republic's war machines and even aiding in the construction of the Mass Shadow Generator Like all the Jedi that followed Revan and Malak to war he was cast out of the order but unlike most that served him he decided not to join their new Sith Empire and instead worked as a neutral mechanic Unfortunately for him Malak did not like the idea of him giving his machines to his enemies so he ordered his workshop to be bombed fatally wounding Geero Luckily the droid he had just finished survived the bombing unscathed Using a strange technique he transfered his consciousness from his dying body to his advanced combat droid While he earned a new limitless life he lost his connection to the Force He compensates for the loss with his advanced functions and experience from his time as an organic that put the droid almost on par with well-trained Jedi and Sith (he was able to find a way to counter tech-disrupting weapons and force powers) However he also lost something worse than his connection: his rights as a sentient being Until he joined the Valkoran he had to live outside the law of Plaristean (named after Plaristes look it up on Wookieepedia) idealists As a leader of the Valkoran he has earned the same amount of respect from the men and women in the organization as he had in the Mandalorain War Story-wise like most of the Valkoran leaders he doesn't show up until Part 2 Considering that he's a humaner Nautolan soul in a droid body I thought it would be okay if he occasionally gets dismembered or blown to pieces As for his lightsaber design I think I will tackle that on a separate drawing and even do another design with more visible head tentacles
