Rave Master tells the story of how Haru Glory travels the world with his sword Ten Commandments fighting against The Shadow Guard an organization led by their master King that possess a tyrannical hold over the world with their Shadow Stones During his journeys Haru forms a team that are then dubbed The Rave Warriors due to Haru equipping the Shadow Stones' polar opposite the Rave Stones upon his sword Like a lot of Shonen series some manga and anime fans feel Rave Master drags on and like One Piece created by Eiichiro Oda has a lot of weird and unusual character designs Despite that I personally love this series

Ellie was the first person Haru met off his island meeting in a casino after Plue had wandered away from him The pair travel together after Haru rescues her from being attacked by a member of The Shadow Guard and as time goes on there are a few inclinations that they come to see each other as more than friends When the new King appears and makes a move on Ellie Haru is enraged by this and vows to make King pay for bringing tears to her eyes Prior to the final battle they confess their feelings for each other and agree to marry should they live through the war against King I think this is a very subtle romance that plays out very well since there's rarely any inverse inclination or hints that Haru and Ellie are in love until towards the very end

Like I said before the relationship between Haru and Ellie really feels like a subtle one He doesn't start out being madly in love with Ellie the moment they meet but rather they start out as friends and over time realize they want to be more than that When the new King accosts Ellie and makes her cry Haru becomes enraged and vows he'll make him pay for hurting her Before the final fight Haru also says if he comes back he'll marry Ellie I really like how the development works between these two since unlike romantic comedy animes and manga the romance between these two takes time to develop instead of just hitting us in the face with it from start to finish

Back when The Shadow Guard was still a noble army that destroyed harmful demons Gale Raregrove was the best friend of Gale Glory Haru's father However they disagreed over what to do after their goal of eliminating all the evil demons or driving them off was accomplished Gale wanted to collect the Shadow Stones while the other Gale felt they should be destroyed This caused them to part ways with Gale Glory to return to his home on Garage Island while Gale Raregrove becoming corrupted by his Shadow Stone Decalogue turned The Shadow Guard into a force dedicated to conquering the world and dubbed himself King When the Royal Government assassinated his wife King blamed Gale for his loss and vowed to make his former best friend pay for this perceived betrayal by killing Gale's wife Sakura Years later Decalogue completely corrupted Gale turning him into a demon before it robbed him of his life force and he crumbled to dust During his reign as King Gale kept Decalogue in his giant steel sword

One of the commanding officers of The Shadow Guard prior to being defeated by Haru and arrested afterwards Lance commissioned Galein Musica to forge a sword for him then used it to murder Galein's family after claiming it This is just a show of how evilly sadistic Lance is he will either outright kill someone who displeases him or punish them with what they fear most (he punished his subordinate Bizz by forcing him to eat tofu-burgers which Bizz hated) He took Ellie hostage when The Rave Warriors entered Punk Town while it was under Shadow Guard control He was also willing to cut down anyone who stood in his way threatening Gaelin when he interfered in his fight against Haru

This muscular man is a passionate film director and wanted to make the most spectacular movie ever Unfortunately he wanted rain in his movie and created a machine that made it rain all the time in Ska City However far from being a sadistic person like Lance Go was just a tad stupid and selfish not taking what constant rainstorms would mean for the people who lived in Ska City into account and refusing to turn his machine off just because Haru asked him to Go is also a bit dumb and makes rash judgements as when Ellie arrived at his headquarters he assumed SHE was the Rave Master until Haru arrived and it took Haru several times before convincing Go that he had it wrong Despite being a former member of The Shadow Guard Go was not evil or malicious and merely was too obsessed with his own wants to realize he was hurting other people Go is also a man of his word as he kept his promise to turn off his rain machine and stop production on his film after Haru beat him in a fight
