This is how I cleaned my microphone From years of doing ProSound I like to keep my microphones clean This procedure is not for everyone If you choose to use this post as a guide to clean your microphone you are doing it at your own risk Your work and microphone is YOUR responsibilty I am not responsible for your actionsnFirst step is to wrap the front grill with aluminum foil to protect the element from the hot air from the heat gun required to melt the lock-tight on the threads Do not remove the black cylindrical foam piece This is the microphone element Disturbing it can ruin the microphone When removing the front assembly this may pull out from the body so be gentle removing the front until you are sure the element stays in the body BEFORE YOU REMOVE THE GRILL AND LAY THE MICROPHONE DOWN BE SURE THE SURFACE IS FREE FROM ANY AND ALL METALLIC PARTICLES I used a clean unused new microfiber cloth clean newspaper works or the clean surface of a kitchen table If your workbench is like mine and most others laying the microphone on it is not advised If there are any ferrous particles of dust of any kind they will be attracted to the foam surrounding the microphone element and iron of any kind is NOT something anyone wants on their microphone Some of the close-up are a bit out of focus These were taken during the project so photography came second and unlike 35mm my digital camera is not an SLR so there is no real close up or macro lenses
